In 1992, Konstantinos Belesiotis, Greece’s first licensed civilian helicopter engineer, set out to transform the country’s helicopter commercial aviation market. Drawing from decades of experience and technical expertise, he founded Bellavia Aviation Services—Greece’s first family-owned aviation company—inviting his sons, Panagiotis, a second-generation helicopter engineer, and Michael, to join him in realizing his vision.
From its earliest days, Bellavia made its mark in the skies of Greece. Iconic helicopters such as the Bell 47, Hiller UH12, and the Bell 206 JetRanger were deployed for essential services including aerial fertilization, filming and photography, spraying, advertising, and pleasure flights. As one of the pioneering aviation companies in Greece, Bellavia quickly gained recognition for its cutting-edge technology, uncompromising safety standards, and commitment to service excellence.
In 2000, Bellavia received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC), expanding its services. The company’s evolution into a trusted aviation services provider was supported by a robust management system and a strong ethos of continuous improvement.
Today, as Bellavia continues to grow, it remains deeply rooted in the legacy of its founder. The pioneering spirit of Konstantinos Belesiotis lives on through the leadership of his family: his grandson, Konstantinos Belesiotis, a third-generation helicopter engineer, and his granddaughter, Rania Belesioti, who now serves as the company’s Accountable Manager. Together with co-founder Panagiotis Belesiotis, they uphold the company’s core values—excellence, innovation, and family tradition—as they guide Bellavia into the future.
